Family Support

A Personal Connection With Every Family

At OneFamily, supporting a family begins with getting to know them.

Following a terror attack, OneFamily’s case workers reach out to bereaved families, wounded victims and their loved ones. They visit families at home and in the hospital, stay in touch by phone and help with the many challenges that arise in the aftermath of an attack.

Over time, case workers become a familiar and trusted presence in the lives of the families they support.

More Than a Phone Call

Much of a case worker’s work involves helping families with everyday concerns. This can mean speaking with a child’s school, helping arrange medical appointments, addressing housing issues or making sure a family receives the assistance it needs.

Sometimes it’s a phone call to sort something out. Other times, it’s a hospital visit, sitting with a bereaved parent or checking in on a family that is having a particularly difficult week.

By getting to know each family personally, case workers can recognize when additional help is needed and respond as circumstances change.

Sharing Life’s Important Moments

The relationship between a case worker and a family often continues for many years.

Case workers attend memorial services, remember difficult anniversaries and remain involved as children grow and families face new challenges.

They also share in happy occasions, from births and Bar and Bat Mitzvahs to weddings and other family celebrations.

Part of the OneFamily Community

Through their case workers, families are introduced to the wider OneFamily community, where they can take part in activities and meet others who have experienced similar loss.

Many of these connections grow into friendships that continue well beyond OneFamily’s organized programs.

Our name is our mission. We are OneFamily.
