Adopt a Family Program connects an international donor with an Israeli family living at or below the poverty level, who falls under OneFamily’s wing. We currently have 33 families in this category. Our families are terror survivors, who have either been physically attacked, or who are bereaved of an immediate family member. In general, our families struggle with PTSD and grief, on top of everyday stressors. Sometimes their trauma and anxiety are crippling, and they are not yet able to go back to work. Your gift of $7,000 USD will give these families a monthly stipend to help them pay their bills, while they continue to receive custom tailored therapeutic services, given with love, from OneFamily. These are earmarked funds, so you will personally know the individuals who are benefiting from your gift.

By adopting a family, you will be able to have an ongoing relationship with your “adopted family,” and we encourage you to become involved, lend an ear, and act as a loving source of strength. Over the years, many friendships have been forged. You are welcome to visit your family, and take them on outings, or take them out to dinner. Right now, you can call, email, or Facetime. Send them gifts. Send them a meal. Send them love. Connect. Your philanthropy will positively impact the recovery of an entire family, and you have the potential to create enriching memories which will last a lifetime.

Testimonials

My family and I wanted to have a relationship with a family that we could help and be involved with. OneFamily found that family for us through their Adopt-a-Family program. The 20-year-old daughter of our Israeli family was murdered on her lunch break by a Palestinian who was looking to kill Jews that day.

Over a period of time, I have become very involved with all the members (five) of our “adopted” family, to the point that we have become good friends. I am there for them when they need a friendly ear. As luck would have it, they have a 13-year-old daughter being bat mitzvahed at the same time as my granddaughter, so we sponsored a twinning for them as well. We have beautiful photos of the event, and seeing everyone so happy gave us joy.

Being part of this family has been a wonderful experience, and we can feel good about helping this family try to move forward after experiencing such terror. This family isn’t alone. There are more than 25 families waiting for “adoption.” Israel needs you.
